Hi all, I'd love to sign up for the contest with this cutting of Prunus Mume. I purchsed it for 7.99 Euros few months ago (possibly May?).

It's just been potted from a plastic container into this clay one, hasn't received any style whatsoever, yet.

A little update on this cutting, is thickening quite fast (and getting more and more woody) and the leaves are all curled up (possibly a good sign for a good flowering this year?).

I applied some wire, just to add some movement, and all the scars and snaps I accidentally provoked are healing in the most interesting fashion.

Tough little guy indeed

A quick update on this little guy here: first flower just blossomed, Albaplena cultivar is certainly a pretty one!

Still messing around with this ume, I'm experimenting how much it can handle in terms of repotting, defoliating and wiring the same year but it's vigorous, well fed, well placed in full sun and about to push a second flush of growth. Last 2 photos are from mid May, now leaves are out.
