Hello, my shinpaku juniper is showing some browning, mostly tips but some of the smaller branches entirely. I will admit this I started the early spring (a month or so ago) heavy watering probably daily and I think that may be the culprit. I did repot this year, maybe 6 weeks ago, no major structural changes.

I don’t see webbing of any sort or signs of mites etc but maybe the pictures will show something I’m unaware of. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated as I don’t want to lose this one

Also, I have reduced watering to when I feel it actually drying at the top, and I have moved it onto my full sun bench as it was in a shadier location since the start of spring.

When was the wiring done? A lot of the tips look healthy. Hopefully the full sun and better watering practices will pull it through. If youre getting new growth, id lightly fertilize.

the large wire, which I realize isn’t done great, was there last fall, although it is loose now because I just run wires some of it to remove the tape I had on it to aid in the bends I did then I just loosely wrapped it again but the finer wiring was done a couple months ago probably

Ok. It is usually not recommended to wire and repot at same time. That may be putting the stress on the new, younger branches.

I hear you. I didn’t even jerk them around much or anything but maybe it doesn’t take much. I’m hoping for a recovery into all green foliage and new growth

This could be fungal. Tip Blight has come and mostly gone (or at least stopped worsening and started getting better) here so wouldn't be surprised if its about that season in your area. (I haven't treated for tip blight in a while. It effects a few trees for a few weeks and then they recover fine.)

Also, your tree needs to be cleaned out. Remove downward growing foliage, weak foliage, and growth in the crotches that you're SURE you're not going to cut back to. Preserve the growing tips.

Tip blight would seem probable as it is often the tips of the foliage I’m seeing, assuming that’s what the name implies. I have copper spray but I’ll google tip blight remedy.

As for the pruning I was going to wait to make sure it was healthy out of the winter and then the browning started happening and to be honest I was a little worried to do any pruning
