I kno, it's spring, totally normal. But I'm excited!

The lilac cuttings I took continue to go nuts. My weeping willow cuttings are finally showing buds. And the flowering maple I chopped into three pieces is showing signs of life! Both the base plant and cuttings both have new buds.

I've always killed plants, and this bit of success is very encouraging.

Two months later and the lilacs never rooted, but the willows are losing their minds! The flowering maple (which is apparently Indian mallow) has gone CRAZY. Both of the cuttings rooted and back budded, and the main trunk has thickened and is developing a canopy and lots of new branches and leaves. You can see the parent plant on the left and the two cuttings on the right. I basically did two trunk chops at once and cut the whole tree into three pieces. I'll get some pictures of those later.

In the meantime, anything I should be doing with these willows? Should I separate and repot them now, or wait until late fall?
