Sapling
Got this buttonwood pre-bonsai from Wigerts that I’m looking forward to repotting next summer. Although it’s straight up and down now I was thinking it would look much better potted at an angle, or possibly even a sort of cascade. I think this would accentuate the deadwood running through the middle and allow the thinner lower branches to be wired into additional pads later. Thoughts? Also, what can I be doing now style-wise (fall/winter in south Louisiana) to prepare it for a change in potting angle? I’ve been doing some minor leaf trimming since I received it to maintain the shape but that’s about it. (The pine photo from the internet represents the basic goal I had in mind.)
