I took some of pictures at CBS show at Huntington Library on 3/28/09 and want to share with you. Sorry, I didn't have enough time to document the names of artists and didn't use a flash or tripod to get better pictures. Bonhe

Bonhe,
That tokanama is really nice. I think the artist got every element right. From the cliff on the scroll relating to the tree that has survived the harsh elements, all the way to the sparse and simple accent, like a patch of alpine tundra. The black stands are sharp and simple. I really like the stand for the accent. It makes me think of a puddle. If the accent pot were dark it wouldn't have worked nearly as well. The pot echos the color of the cliff and the jinned top of the tree. This is what I expect to see at Kazari.

Hi Yamadori, I like that tokanama, too. Beside that, I also like the wall color. It fit very well to the whole picture. I feel very warm when I look at this.

More to come.

Hi Bonhe! thanks for telling me about this site! I like it! I think I am here to stay.
Thanks for showing the trees from the CBS show. The twisty california juniper is my favorite! Are there more trees to show?
There is also a little bonsai show this weekend in Westminster. Call me if you need info.

Okay now thats a scroll....I don't think it would fit on my wall...house.
Thank you for so many wonderfull pictures. I love them all but those Shohin are just amazing.

It is nice to see folks remembering Mr. Naka and honoring him with his trees.
