I will be in San Francisco area of California in October. I’m willing to drive 3 to 4 hours in any direction besides west. Where are some good places to go get material. Where do you guys recommend had good material.

Lone Pine Gardens in Sebastopol, Maruyama Bonsai in Sacramento (only open mornings), Lotus Bonsai in Placerville, Grove way Bonsai in Hayward.

And if your visit happens at the end of October there's the GSBF annual convention in Sacramento at McClellan conference center in Sacramento. Huge vendor area!

Also East Bay Bonsai Society ( http://www.eastbaybonsai.org/ ) club show Oct 12 - 14 will have a vendor area, although not the size of the GSBF show.
