Can anyone identify this plant? I bought it from a Florida vendor a few yrs ago at our convention and he told me the name then but I have been having too many senior moments and I just can't recall it. I've heard of the name before when he told me and it is something pretty common if I'm not mistaking. I went to his website but he no longer as any of these. It's tropical for sure so someone who does tropical bonsai or maybe lives in Florida would know what it is. It gets tiny little pink flowers in mid Sept if that is any help. Thankspine11a.jpg

Thanks for the quick reply but no the flowers don't look like those and the names they mention were not something I recognize either.

You can try to Google some myrtle or malpighia to compare the flowers.

I was hoping maybe someone would recognize the leaves, and maybe the bark which is very rough looking.

Sometimes the leaves are not enough for positive ID and more to see is needed - buds, flowers, fruit, seed.
