I took these photos of a tree that was sold to me as a Himalayan Cherry (Prunus cersoides). This isn't a correct ID. Anyone have any ideas? I think it may be a Prunus glandulosa - Dwarf Flowering Almond.

By the way, the two sets of photos were taken twenty-four hours apart. The unseaonable weather we had really opened the buds up quickly.

Pretty blooms...can one make a bonsai from these? I have a mature one I would never consider removing from the flowered...but I noticed one struggling to survive on the other property we purchased. It is far older than the one in our flowered...but has spread into sections. Bloomed beautifully this past season (which is how i noticed it) but...is not beautiful as ours...due to location maybe...planted on the side of the cottage facing the lake. So maybe the winters are more harsh on it? Ours is thick...and full...this one...not so much. More leggy...with branches up top.
