Can you ID this tree (or shrub...)

Sorry to add another one of these posts but I'm brand new to the site and bonsais both. I can't seem to figure out what this is. It looks a little like crepe myrtles I've seen pictures of but I don't know. Looking forward to getting into this hobby.

Ps does this plant's pruning look incorrect in some way?

Crepe Myrtle it is not.

These are usually called Ginseng Ficus. Use the search function on upper right corner and read up!
