Quick question for everybody:

I started repotting a crape myrtle bonsai this afternoon and won't be able to finish until tomorrow afternoon unfortunately...

Should I keep the tree submerged over night or wrap the root ball in wet paper towels and then in plastic?

I wish I didn't have to wait to finish tomorrow but I don't have a choice...

I would think that either would be fine for 24 hours.

If it was me, I think I would probably do the wet paper towels.

Wet the whole tree down with a hose and put it in a big garbage bag and seal it with a clip or something. Put the bag in a cool, not cold place without the sun shining on it. It will be fine for several days.

If it’s sitting on the bench, you can drape the root ball in wet towels. If you’ve bare rooted it, you could use a garbage bag.

If in the shade / in a shed: I usually take a big pot and toss a pile of substrate on / around the roots.
