Hi guys! I have a crabapple coming in the mail today, the tree will be wrapped in damp sphagnum moss and coming from Northern California, I am in zone 7A (Maryland) and its in the 30sm outside today. What are the steps I need to take after receiving it? Thanks

Alternately, you could store it in the fridge for awhile in the same damp sphagnum moss it comes in. Or you could pot it up and store it in the fridge a few more weeks. I have a small fridge that has several small trees in it and lots of seeds. It worked very well last year and I had 0 fatalities. I will start potting mine up in about 3 weeks. Some have been stored since November. Last year I also held Tident maples until May and never lost one.
