Mister 500,000
Most of you know that we moved and that I only kept about 7 plants (My good friend @AZbonsai is fostering a few as well.) As I was selling the plants at the garage sale for $10 each my wife looks at this Natal Plum and says, "Ohhh I like that one I have seen those grow in California, can you keep that one?" I was floored because she has always hated my trees. So naturally, it came with us!
It has been in a 5gal nursery pot since I bought it and I looked at it today and it was pushing buds everywhere so I thought, what the heck let's pot it up. Now I am new to AZ so I might kill it but nights are staying above 40 so it should be fine. I had an 8" Fletcher Kaufman pot in a box which is WAY too big but it will work as the first pot from a nursery can.
By the way, Fletcher Kaufman is a great guy and does nice work and he is getting better all the time. You can find his stuff on the .99 FB auction I recommend getting some of his stuff.
You can see how it looked before I basically pruned it back to the trunk to regrow the branches and how it looks now which is pretty crappy but at least I'm having fun right? It's about 2 1/8" at the soil line so like I said way over potted but pretty fat for a Natal Plum. Pictures look like I did not get the DE dust off the pot... Oh well.
