Power outages on the East Coast are very localized. I'd give it a try. Much of the East Coast is back to normal, despite what you see on the news.
I believe Carl lives in Margate City. According to the Atlantic City Electric utilities page, there are about 200 people with no power in the general area of Margate City, Longport, Ventnor City... I don't know where he lives in Margate; let's hope it wasn't close to the oceanfront!

Easy to say sitting in California. I live here and Ill tell you that NY and NJ coastal areas are no where near back to normal and won't be for some time.
Some areas won't be restored for many weeks, even months.
Just saying.

No, no it isn't. My boss lost his house, and like thousands of others is living in a relative's living room. Others are stranded in hotels, or worse. The Jersey Shore is totalled, as are some towns along the Chesapeake Bay.
I have coworkers in NYC commuting to Long Island because they don't have power.

i just went and visited my teacher i havent spoken to him since oct 28
he wont have power for another 10 days at least, the warming center i worked at yesterday LOST POWER again and may take longer to get back on line JCPL is out of poles to fix downed ones and shore communities may not even be able to see there houses for up to 8 months because of gas leaks from homes torn from foundations

If you talk to him tell him that we are all concerned about him and his wife. I spent a weekend with Carl and his wife an number of years ago and I can tell you he is one of the good guys deserving of our concern.
