Trees on the table look great. I live a few hours south of you and of course Cedar Elm are everywhere, plan to go grab a few more this weekend ;). Nice ramification and branching on yours, especially the twisty trunked haus in the cream pot on the right (cedar elm?). How long ago was that one collected? Thanks

Thanks coach. The twisted one is actually a Chinese elm. Looking at the date stamp on my first picture of it, seems like I've had it for 10 years now...crazy.

You've done quite well with that "s" curved elm! With that rammed out canopy I was fooled into thinking that was an old collected tree you have been working with for a long while...Bravo

Thanks Wilson. I like your profile pic. I used to watch 'Home Improvement ' all the time back in the day.

Crummy cell phone pic of another one that got repotted this year. I bought a Byron Myrick pot for it at the bonsai convention in Dallas a couple weeks ago. I'll try and get a pic of the pot later. The tree will have to wait a while for it's new home though.

I love these elms. Really nice natural looking trees. I really want to try some cedar elms.

It comes outta the pot a bit straight. 15 degrees or so tilted to the right makes it a little more engaging. What do you think?

I gotta let it be for a while since I just repotted it, so I have some time to study it a bit. I kinda had in my head that I'd eventually put a guy wire on the first branch on the left, and pull it and the whole tree down and to the left a couple degrees. It still needs some tweaking for sure, I dunno, got to think about it. Sometimes a photograph helps you see things you may miss in person.

Here are update pics for a handful of elm trees. They all just got a little spring haircut to let some light into the interior branches.

Weather permitting I hope to thin this one out tomorrow.

Weather was ok, so I took a bunch off this one. Branch structure had been neglected, there were lots of dead twigs, and some insect damage. Hopefully this helps bring it back on track. Still needs a lot of work.
