Any thoughts about collecting this cedar. it's about 12" tall and about 2 inches across the base. Came across it while scouting for deer signs. The top has been broken out. its very healthy with a lot of tight foliage and branching. Certainly not something I'd waste my time on. I collect a lot of juniper yamadori. (I believe your picture is a juniperus virginiana) . They're too much work to dig up and nurse to survive if they don't have deadwood, taper, good branching, and health. All I can see in your plant is the health part. I'd keep looking.

That is 12 inches tall with a 2 inch base, it seems well proportioned at least. Here in Ohio most the cedars, which grow like weeds here, tend to get diseased and the needles turn an orange color and die off.
