Procumbens juniper. This juni has a trunk about 1.5 inches across. The tree is about 12 inches tall but could be cut back for shohin easily, which is what I was gonna do with it. Lots of good branch choices here and the last shot is an upskirt to see all the opportunities for jins and shari, many there already.

$80.00

Another procumbens. This one is also about 1.5" across at the base and about 15 inches tall. Unbelievable movement in the trunk and branch placement is already started. Just needs developing of those pads. Lots of pinching and wire will really shape this up in a hurry. Local handmade pot too!

Kinda sounds like ebay huh!

Not sure about a price yet as this is a really nice tree. Might keep it myself after I pulled it out of the weeds this afternoon to take a picture.

If I sold it I would probably start at around $150.00 just because trees like this are not very easy to come by. This could be a real killer tree. This tree was really bushy and I pruned it back for the photo. At one time it had fairly nice pads and just needed refining. Now this it is out of the weed patch and will get some light the tree should bud like crazy since we still will have temps in the high 80's for a month or more. Should be good for dec. 3rd. Will also have many more elms and trident maples.

I posted these here in this thread in an effort for guys like Cali Mike and Barry who might just come if they see what can be picked up. Mike always comes so I know he will be there. I am not interested in shipping trees as I am not a seller, so please don't ask.

Al,
Thanks for posting those inticements in a timely manner. It gives me plenty of time to explain to my wife why we should attend the bonsai swap meet on her birthday.

Dang, it'd almost be cost effective to drive half way across the country to get some nice material at those prices.

Looking good Al I need to get some pics of my stuff. I will pull some material out of the field. This will be a good sale.

The dead wood pomagranite is interesting but I hate them so much I have no interest to work on it.

Hey Al, why do you hate pomegranates so much? Jus curious, since this all pomegranate country down here in So Cal, and they are such good bonsai subjects. It makes no sense to me...but may be you know about them something that I haven't payed attention to.

Great stuff Smoke, I wish I wasn't literally on the other end of the country I'd stop by and make a purchase. What about tridents?

I, too, like to work on pomegranites. My main gripe is that the branches become difficult to bend once they harden off, but I like their rate of growth, the flowers, etc.
