There's been some interest in quince lately, so I thought I'd post one that I bought this winter. Well, acutually two, since it separated quite easily when I removed it from the nursery can.
This is a Chaenomeles japonnica "moned". AKA "Super Red"

Ver nice. You'll have a lot of fun with these. The tree in the second photo has some potential.

I think all quince have potential LOL!

Yours are just starting and initially need to be brought down to size to be less rangey. looks like you have one to be developed as single trunk and one to be developed as kabudachi or clump style.

With clump style I like to wire the new shoots once they have hardened off to give them movement. With single trunk, I tend to work
not with the main trunk already too stiff to move with wire and simply concentrate on a clip and grow style of management design.

the blue pots are nice and contrasting with the blooms. One of my favorites is a yellowish tawny pot with brown splatters which seems to work well after blooming with design and folliage

thanks for psoting.
