Omono
I don't often show this tree, but this year, its flowers...well, you be the judge. This clump is the Utamaro cultivar of Japanese flowering quince. Utamaro was a famous woodblock print maker, noted for his vivid reds. The reds on this quince are among the reddest you'll find anywhere.
This bonsai began in 2006 with the remains of a failed clump and one that was succeeding. In 2007 I got 5 more cuttings from Brent and tied the whole works together. That was really the beginning of what you see here. There was enough variation in trunk size to make it visually interesting.
Future directions? I want more twigging and more trunks. I will keep raising the roots as they thicken to make what will be taken for a stump.
