I have several pots by this man but have been unable to find out anything about him, it seems he was a prolific potter as some of the pots have run numbers ie: 79/100, I believe he passed away 4/5yrs ago but he did do amazing finishes on his pots for example brushed charcoal and woodgrain effects, I'm in touch with a number of Bonsai specialists who have seen his work but like me have no details of who he is etc. his cypher is unique though
Thank you so much to Bernie and everyone for all of your replies! I did not think anyone would be able to help here. Apologies for the late reply on this. I have everything in storage (reluctant traveller, hoping to get some permanency soon as usual :0/). Anyway, I have these pictures now.
You are right about the glaze finish Bernie. If this is a Charles Miller he did great on it. I have pictured the maker's mark. However, it looks like an East Asian character(?).
The pictures dont do the glaze justice, there is no dirt on this, it is all the glaze. There are multi layers. It looks like there is charring and a rusty red colour that doesnt look like normal glaze. I'm not familiar with the techniques but it's a great pot. Very thick material.
Would be interested in any information on this makers mark. No numbers that I can see on it. I cant wait to use this. It is never going to crack!
