Has anybody any information on Charles Miller? He was a UK potter that recently died I believe. The reason I ask is that I just aquire one of his pots. Beautiful patina and interesting glaze, red, black, grey. What is the verdict? Not sure on pots but this one looks like multiple glazes and more complex glaze techniques than a single colour(?)

I have several pots by this man but have been unable to find out anything about him, it seems he was a prolific potter as some of the pots have run numbers ie: 79/100, I believe he passed away 4/5yrs ago but he did do amazing finishes on his pots for example brushed charcoal and woodgrain effects, I'm in touch with a number of Bonsai specialists who have seen his work but like me have no details of who he is etc. his cypher is unique though

If you can find more info please let me know! I'm very curious! Could you also please post a pic of his stamp(s)? Thanks in advance!

You might try shooting an email to Alex Rudd at European Bonsai Potters Collective. Not surprisingly, it's alex@europeanbonsaipotterscollective.com. He might have info, or perhaps could direct you to someone who might. I've bought a couple of pots from them, and have found him to be quite cordial and helpful.

Good idea, he'll probably know. And he got tons of super sweet pots! I'm actually going to be at the EBPC stand trading with Alex at the 20th Trophy this February. Looking forward to it massively!

Well at least it's not a common name, right? Can you share a better picture of the seal/stamp/signature? May help with the hunt.

Sweet! Sami makes wonderful pots, got two of them and first thing you notice when holding them is the high quality of the pots. Very nice glaze too!
I got this one last spring. It’s by Markus Berenbrinker (hope I spelled that correctly). My wife has a thing for frogs.

Thank you so much to Bernie and everyone for all of your replies! I did not think anyone would be able to help here. Apologies for the late reply on this. I have everything in storage (reluctant traveller, hoping to get some permanency soon as usual :0/). Anyway, I have these pictures now.

You are right about the glaze finish Bernie. If this is a Charles Miller he did great on it. I have pictured the maker's mark. However, it looks like an East Asian character(?).

The pictures dont do the glaze justice, there is no dirt on this, it is all the glaze. There are multi layers. It looks like there is charring and a rusty red colour that doesnt look like normal glaze. I'm not familiar with the techniques but it's a great pot. Very thick material.

Would be interested in any information on this makers mark. No numbers that I can see on it. I cant wait to use this. It is never going to crack!
