Chinese Banyan Dropping Leaves/Yellowing

I just recently purchased these Chinese Banyan from a bonsai garden nearby. Unfortunately, since I've brought it home, its leaves have slowly begun yellowing. To my understanding, these plants do not like to be moved and prefer humid areas. My room is fairly dry and its fall in my area. I'm not sure if any cooler air radiating off my window is doing this, or if it's my water habits. I was told to water it once a week, and let the soil dry in between waterings, although I'm seeing online that the soil should be kept moist.

Does anyone have any suggestions? My schefflera bonsai and small fukein tea are doing just fine, and I don't want to loose him!

It was taken from (probably) a nice warm, humid, very well lit greenhouse, placed in a dark box for several days, and now resides in your much drier and most likely darker house. There's going to be an adjustment period. Give it as much light as possible, and don't over-water. It very well might drop most or all of its leaves.

Make sure it doesn't have bugs (scale or mites).

I agree with Coh, seems likely to be stress related. And if the soil isn't great you're more likely to over water than under water.
