i remember this tree when i was starting out around 6 years ago, i spent so many hours studying these images!

Love that "wrong" downward growing lower left side branch. Very penjing-esque.... also very natural.

I see this kind of branches all the time around here, notably on honey locusts (Glenditsia triacanthos).

Love the trunk & taper, and I think it's a good thing to keep it as it is, rather than re-styling it into something more "modern".

i know at one point you considered this more a cookie cutter style Walter. with the refurbishment would you say it has a more natural look to it now?
i studied this one a lot and i can see the recent changes quite clearly. the pads in the earlier images arent so evident, youve allowed it to fill in more and even the low left branch looks different.
would likely take a drastic overhaul to refurbish it completely, but still a lovely tree even in the earlier stages.
