What would cause green leaves dropping on a Chinese elm? I brush the foliage with my hand and leaves just fall, all green. I'm sure it's not over watered or under watered.

I've had this happen during the summer when I had to do an emergency repot due to a broken pot.
Have you stressed the tree by moving it or repotting?

Is the tree kept inside?

far easier for us if you can post a picture here. Sometimes the more experienced can pick up clues that you are not even aware of when they see the tree.

I'll post some pictures today when I get home.
I did move the tree from it's original location. Last time I fertilized it was 2 weeks ago.

Its looking healthy from those pics. Are all leaves falling off with a light brush or just some?

What season is it for you at the moment? Early spring, late, summer, etc?

Looks healthy to me too. My guess is that either it dried out a bit one day and had to shed some leaves to stay alive or possibly these are last year's leaves that are now too old and so being shed similar to autumn leaves.

Where did you move it from because it looks to be in a greenhouse of some sort.

I have been having the same problem with my seiju elm. It is completely green, and looking healthy but some branches are shedding leaves. I was thinking it was critter damage at first because it kind of looked like the branches were stripped. However I am getting them falling off with a light brush as well, so clearly there are other issues.
