Chinzan satsuki azalea in full bloom

This Chizan satsuki started from a 1 gallon nursery stock and trained as a moyogi blooms every year around the third week of April.

That's beautiful! I got a little Chinzan last fall. Can't wait to see it bloom. I'm pretty far north of you, so I think it will be a couple of weeks yet.

Just had m Chinzan Satsuki azalea delivered today. A great buy frim Mr. Maple nice full plant plenty of branches. I think that it will look great when t
blooms in that wonderful pink.

Chinzen is an excellent Satsuki for bonsai despite being somewhat ubiquitous in the USA. I’ve found a small flower and normal flower version, with the small flower much less common.

Beware…. most nursery azaleas need severe cut backs to make them decent bonsai….about 5 years to nice form and 10 to really nice young bonsai

Ill bet @Chuah worked really hard to get the results displayed in this thread.
