I’m not sure where the front is now since the chop as it will be “chop forward facing” on the original front. I need to play about with it later to see where it’s at. If I wanted the chop on the back I needed to cut lower, trying to preserve some initial height so went with @MHBonsai suggested chop line.
I also want to get rid of that upright bit on the lowest branch but the rain just started up again so am and not going back out there yet 😂.

image 3 is definitely your new front. Hopefully the roots (nebari) will support that decision.

Next, using image 3 as the new front, thin out clusters of branches to single branch + trunk, or branch forking to 2 branches. Eliminate clusters and remove one side of most clusters.

Oh and I totally agree that it needs to be dumped in a larger pot to heal up and grow more roots. Unfortunately I didn’t have anything large enough in the shed that’s not already in use. But …I did spot this abandoned palletboard on Monday. It was still there on my route home today so I grabbed it on route and carried it (these things are heavier than they look 😱😱) the remaining 2000meters/1.2miles home.
Gonna repurpose it and make me a bonsai box over the weekend maybe😂. The things we do for our trees
