Clearance Rack Cotoneaster

I’ve heard these make pretty good bonsai. Just happened to see one on a clearance rack for $5.00. It has a nice trunk, most of the cotoneasters I see around here have multiple thin trunks. This does not.

Nice find, the trunks of cotoneasters from garden centres or nurseries are usually rather straight at the base, this one is great to play with.

Thanks! Yes, agreed. Have see many cotoneasters before, but never picked one up for that reason.

I hope you're ready to remove lots of suckers. Because that's how you get suckers. I love these plants. Pretty flowers, berries, etc as well.

The small flowers are pretty, but when you manage to keep some red bays, it's even better :cool:

I haven't checked it for a while. It had lots of berries, but I'm afraid that because of the drought here many have aborted:
