I recently moved back to the San Francisco area with just a few, small trees. I've tried to be good - selective about my additions, concentrating on shohin size. But the material available at club sales is just so hard to pass up. Here are two I couldn't leave behind for the price. Neither is close to shohin. The boxwood is from Fresno, and the coast live oak (Q. agrifolia) was at the Sei Boku Kai club show and sale. I didn't get the name of the boxwood supplier. The oak was sold by John Thompson.
And the Redwood Empire club show is coming up in August, GSBF in October, and the California Shohin Society seminar in Santa Nella in February. I'm going to have to find some self-discipline before I run out of space.
