This tree has been one of my favorites here in D.C.


It is a mostly classic clump. I've admired it for going on 30 years. now this happens

What a shame. Does some of the issue stem from excessive watering of the grass? Or are they hush about potential reasons?

We have had a metric dumptruck full of rain in the last couple of months. Ground is extremely soggy

I've seen that tree several times. It makes me nervous when we get heavy rain like what we got on Mother's Day. I have 100ft trees all around my house. When the ground gets too saturated, all it takes is a nice gust of wind and they topple.

I had some pictures from up in a Mulberry at the HS. ....
Went to climb it again and it's gone...

Was this tree cabled at all?

Man, that root ball is small. They wrapped it and if they can secure it back in position for a while do you think it will survive? 50/50 I'd say.
