Hello everyone. Not sure if this is the best place to post this question, but I’ll give it a go. I have a coast live oak that need to be reported sooner than later. It’s been sheltered in a warmer green house, but is beginning to push bud already. I’ve heard coastal trees and other broad leafed evergreens can push bud in early to mid winter if it’s warmer, but when would I repot? Now right before this flush of growth pushes, or when this growth hardens off and pushes again in spring? Any thoughts and guidance would be awesome! Here’s a few pictures of new growth and bud swell.

I have zero experience with this species so I can't help you with an answer, but I hope someone who does chimed in. I really like the base on that tree!

Congrats on keeping a Q agrifolia growing in Pennsylvania. I'm here in their native range and I've started repotting mine. Should be finished with all of them in a couple of weeks. Some have new growth pushing, some don't.

Awesome to know! I was kinda shocked till I heard it’s kind of normal for them. Could I ask what temps have been like over there want to compare the setup to the native land.

That’s where I’ve been keeping it at. Awesome when things work out. I was stressing it all winter.
