Starting this tread on a tree I pulled from a friends pasture. Damn animals and deer have setup some nice ramifications and structure. Years ago something chewed the base, now showing a “live vein” of sorts

Haha FARM* animals, auto correct strikes again but too good to edit 😅 typically the deer are damn animal when it comes to bonsai and gardening in general but in this instance their work is a 10/10

Nice find!

I found something similar that the deer pruned for me LOL. It was the first little tree my son and I dug when I got interested in bonsai. As best I can figure, it too is a little 'wild' crab-apple.

Let's hope we get flowers someday!

This appears to have a lot of flower spurs already in place, so you may get a good show this spring. Those suckers can be removed and easily grown on their own. I would be hesitant to leave them.....though the varieties that tend to sucker, always tend to sucker.
