Hard to tell with the background but it looks like you have a good piece of material there.

I would suggest waiting until needle drop and taking a picture of the winter image with a nice clear background from multiple sides. There is no rush, larch are best wired in the late winter/early spring anyway.

As a side note: wow, I am surprised that larch tolerate that far south. Japanese larch maybe, but I'm assuming its American because you said collected. How long has this tree been in the south?
