Sapling
This is a privet I dug last year. It came from a hedge planted in the late 50`s. It is a massive thing. It grew fine in the wooden box so this year I cranked up the old chainsaw and cut the rootball in half. I carved the stumps and let it grow. Since then I have just been cutting the shoots like a hedge. There will be some styling going on this winter. The little man in the picture is my secret yamadori helper. Privets are amazingly hardy and can take a fair amount of beating. Styling ideas are welcome.
