I dug this tree a few days ago. Would love any advice. I have done a lot of reading and from what I understand I should more or less leave it alone for the first year, correct? Thanks!

To be more specific, should I apply chemicals to any of the natural deadwood now? In the first growing season should I pinch or decandle, or let it go. Eventually I want to bend some of the branches back under the trunk. I’m not in a rush but don’t want to waste time!

You don't need to worry about working the deadwood yet. Let it get settled in its new home and get some good vigorous growth for a couple year. Then will you know that it has survived collection and you can put your energy into that.
