Got out of the house today and dug up some trees. 3 hornbeams, a beech and an eastern larch. Planted the hornbeams and beech in my vegetable garden for the time being until I can get some pots or grow boxes figured out. The larch I plan on leaving in the ground a few years. I'm hoping it survives the transplant. I tried to preserve much more of the fine roots on that one. Not sure how tolerant larches are to being dug up and chopped like I did. I plan on chopping it lower too, just not sure if I should do it right away.

Definitely enjoyed the sunshine and being out in the woods.
