Does anyone have any advice/comments on collecting established Rosemary? My neighbor has a gnarly twisted Rosemary in their front yard that has some real nice potential.

Many thanks,
Jeff

It is a very finnicky one, doesn't like its roots to be disturbed. So, it is a coin toss, whether it will succeed. You should exercise the greatest care, to keep the rootball intact during the collection. I have collected one from my backyard, and it is now thriving. But I have also one that died during the collection, even though it had a large rootball. The best thing is to plant after collection into 100% inorganic medium(pumice, lava, etc), so that root rot is avoided during the transition. Rosemary hates wet feet.
