$49.99

3.5 gallon container, probably about 24” tall with a 2-3” trunk near the base.

I was planning to wait until clearance time to snag one for half that. But I didn’t want to be left with the worst of the bunch, and wanted to enter the contest 🙂

Nice tree. Have you worked on these before? I hear they can be pretty tricky.

Well...the other night my wife “requested” that I pick up a half gallon of Tillamook chocolate ice cream on my way home from work. Who am I to deny such a request? I’ve learned from experience that wouldn’t be the best course of action.

The King Soopers happened to have a Little Living Christmas Tree section so...you know...I couldn’t help but take a look.

“Black Hills Spruce” - picea glauca

It has some decent movement at the base for a grocery store tree.

Not a bad little tree at all. How does the soil look on it?

VERY compacted. It looks like this tree has been in the same pot for quite some time.

First order of business will be reducing the root mass into a wider and shallower grow box this spring.
