Considering repotting an azalea. Is it too late?

Hi all, I am wondering if it is too late to repot or not. Being in Arcadia, CA, it is just starting to cool down but still with highs in the eighties and nineties. We don't have much of a winter here. I deflowered it end of July, about a month after the first blooms. Then some light wiring and trimming in August. I think it must have been a couple years since it was repotted.

Patience! Your spring must start somewhere just after the new year. Repot then. Azalea can manage with jammed roots for quite a while.

Azalea hate roots to be played with. Doing it now will be almost certain death. I've learn this the hard way.

Thanks for the suggestions. I really was itching to repot but I will wait until next year. This isn't a tree to be taking any chances with. Thanks.
