Chumono
Hey folks, new to this site; is there a new contest started yearly? I've been itching to get in one one but am very behind for any of the current contests. Anyone know what the process is like?
Watch this space and wait, alternatively, host your own.
I don’t host since I have 0 power of influence so my suggestions will gain as much traction as well.
Maybe something pops up closer to spring

New contests don't just go and make themselves. If you build it, they will come!
...or something like that.
How about a mame sycamore contest for a little extra challenge?
Are you suggesting they join a contest started in 2021 or older (I see just one started in the last year - 2022, unless I am not seeing the full list).Too many already. Join one of them instead.
Agreed. Plus the 2022 one is basically barred for entry now; you had to buy the tree by December 22. That's okay, I'm sure one will pop up, though with seed season around the corner, I'm feeling antsyJoining a contest when you are years behind doesn't make sense to me...
How’s about a warp speed styling contest? The two ideas above: root over rock or kusamono bonanza. I like those a lot. Quite different than any of the current ones.
The r/bonsai reddit does this! How’s about a warp speed styling contest?
like get a new nursery stock juniper under 25$ and we see where you get it in 1 year!
I guess this is something I’d like to do.. like, every year!
I like both of those too. Root over rock would probably be the best bet to get people interested. Why not both? The two ideas above: root over rock or kusamono bonanza. I like those a lot. Quite different than any of the current ones.
Kusamono bonanza!
Kusamono bonanza has my vote. It could be as short as 1 season, but still go as long as you want it to.The two ideas above: root over rock or kusamono bonanza. I like those a lot. Quite different than any of the current ones.
