It's an earlier yaamaki but chop and signature look a little funky. You should get Ryan/gastronomes opinion

Suposedly the signature is the president of Yamaaki's.

Its a nice looking little pot ! By the way, is the pot to the left of it floating in the air ?

I like it! I am going to make one similar one. I can not buy any pots here.

It's a little levitation trick I've been practicing. :)

Don't practice with nice pots...and not near another extremely nice pot! LOL

Looks like a big pot...is it on a turntable by any chance? ;)

Certainly no drainage issues :p

Bob,
It's Katoaka Sadamitsu, 2nd of the generations of Yamaaki kiln potters, although 2nd gen Yamaaki pits are so different from 1st and 3rd gen they're often referred to separately as "Koushosen". See the chop, which is upside down, here:

And here's the photo file from from my database

Ryan,
My concern was the signature looks kinda weak and scratchy as does the chop. I have several that look more like the photo from your database and the signature is very crisp. Is this typical?

No it's not typical. However, Koshosen made a holy hell crapload of this style(one reason why Yamaaki pots don't retain value, of any generation, high production). So, I see nothing amiss. The signature is a bit different, but the chop is spot on...why would anyone fake a 12-50$ pot, given how complex this piece is, when one could fake a 200$-1,000$ pot by a respected maker? I see no problem here.
