Hi all

I've had this for quite a few years now and keep getting the urge to redude the size of the rock with my diamond wheel angle grinder then shaping it withabrasive wheels as it just always seems to large and like a plateau!!

That rock 'looks' like a good hard one. Cutting and grinding will be a LOT of work. Power to you.
Be sure to show us some pictures of the process and result.

Have you considered encouraging the tree to grow more roots?

It does look a bit odd, the curves and the straight.

I wonder if there isn't another fix.. different pot...hmm.

More roots could work. Especially if you get one to zigzag down that crack.

Great trunk.

I find it's cool like that , on the first photo , it seems like a surfman going to surf with his board under his arm ...

For me , the big stone accentuates the movement to the left and creates originality .

I wanted to half the long part of the rock then try grinding some shape in all round to make it look a little bit more interesting then fit the whole lot in to a smaller and shallower dish!!

Hi Sorce

I did repot it in to a glazed blue oval pot. As you and others have said, Maybe grafting a couple more trees on to the bottom for the roots then removing the trunks when they've taken may help 🤔

I still am toying with the idea of reducing the rock though!

I like it. I don't think you should reduce the rock. If it's too smal it will ruin the image imo.

Leave it alone! It looks good. Whatever you attempt would be a risk.
Fuck risks!
