Nice find, I found a little sickly one at a nursery that I got for next to nothing. Its finally starting to take off now.
I'll enjoy watching the progression of yours as well.

I've lost every ...little...one I've tried.

Maybe the secret is starting them off sickly.

Wow, nice cotoneaster!! I feel you on the persnicketiness. I have some little ones that were healthy in the Spring but have recently experienced some dieback. I'm starting to wonder if it's the California heat they hate and if they need to be summer shaded here like Japanese maples.
