Crabapple seedling

thought it was a sweetgum as a sapling that lived thru last winter





Here's one I bought on side of road last year. Cut it to this height twice over summer, will reduce next year. Purple crab

decided to look into the tag on the second one i got roadside (was pencil thick) called purple crabapple
and i think it is the purple prince crabapple species. the first one could be from a number
or malus where i found it, so it will be fun to see what it brings. not too serious about these as of now btw, just fun to grow

i wont rule out some wire for these when i work on them in the future, but well see, might just hardcut branches to nubs and continue my non wire run
