I am in the market for a crabapple if anyone has any they would like to part with. I prefer pink blooms but others would be fine also.
Dreaming of my future tree.

I just have one Japanese crab in the ground. I don't even know what color the flowers are since I haven't allowed it to flower yet. I chopped it earlier this year and am letting the leader grow out. Best of luck finding your dream crab!

If you find something, make sure it is from a cutting of a flowering plant. Crabapples from seed can take 20 years or more to bloom. Brent's plants (evergreengardenworks.com) are almost all from cuttings, and he specifies when they are not.

They are not an easy species to grow, with fungal diseases, numerous pests and other peculiarities, but they are definitely worth the effort.
