This is one of the Crabapples I started from whips a few years back in huge containers. This one is 8 foot or so and for the first time shows a little color. Perhaps Spring is really here

Well we had 24 straight hours ending this morning and funny you should mention it as the winds kept it here from the NW That must of been left overs from you! The reason I posted those Buds is they have never budded before for over 5 seasons and it was the by far the worst and strangest Winter we have had in many years. Everything is either pushing buds, in leaf, in bloom but not at the same time. Like all of the Maples, Elms, Larch, and Fruits are at totally different stages which makes little or no sense.
Leaf pictures when they fully open no problem! I am certain this is one of two Dolgo Crabapple originally from Russia. They handle Winter very well but as with most all Apples they must be treated for scale. I use Copper Fungicide in the Fall and again in Spring when buds push. I then treat them every 10 to 14 days depending on rain.
Here is the leaf as of today, the first picture I posted shows some of the new flower buds in the center. I will past another picture of the blooms when they fully open
