Crape Myrtle

Starting a thread on a Crape Myrtle that I got over this past summer. I cut it back hard this spring and just now some new buds are starting to show. I liked this tree because of the nice nebari and interesting trunk with a hole in it. Over the next few years I hope to reduce the root ball and get into a smaller pot. Still deciding on the best front.

Some pictures with new growth and some flowers. Still working on picking the front of the tree. Hopefully the growth will offer some branches that can used for future structure.

More flowers. Think I’m leaning towards this being the front main view for this tree. Once fall gets here I can probably make a better decision on the front.

Cut the tree back hard this year and have repotted. Can’t tell what front I like best. I like the scar and see through are at the bottom of the main scar. Will wire new branches this spring.
