My question should I wait till spring for re-pot and pruning or do it now?

I'm in St. Louis MO, Zone 6a/5b

Thank you in advance

Spring for any work on it.
Just feed and water and protect the roots from freezing this year.

Gandalph,

Have you attended any meetings of the Bonsai Society of Greater St. Louis? We have a meeting tonight at 7:00 pm at the Missouri Botanical Garden and would love to see you there. It's a great time and you would learn a lot. Check out our website for program details.

Thanks for the invite !! Unfortunately, my job and life in general prevents me from doing that during the week.

Do you all have anything going on weekends??

Thanks

Thanks Irene,

I'll do exactly that.

What is your view regarding overwintering flowing trees in an unheated garage, as opposed to outdoors?

Thanks in advance.

If you can protect from wind against the house and mulch it in above the root ball (over the entire pot) it should fair ok. Trees need to go thru their normal life cycles outside. Over protecting a tree will weaken it IMHO.
Joining a club near you and having experienced cub members to guide you is worth far more than anyone online can give you and I know it can be rough making a meeting during the week but I would try hard to do that.
