I picked one of these dense little shrubs up. Anyone have experience with this variety? I’m considering thinning it out to make it look like a Joshua Tree.

I've been playing with this one for a couple years. Pretty tough little tree. I got it from Wigarts in Florida and had concerns about my Ohio winters but, so far so good. Lived under the bench in mulch and survived several single digit nights. Looked a bit rough when I came back from winter in FL but has greened right up.

Great looking little tree. Is this the bushy Birodo cultivar that you have just heavily thinned out?

Afraid I don't remember other than it's a nana.

Hi Leo, photos attached along with an intentionally degraded photo of a Joshua Tree. This is from a postcard, so copyright on the image is not mine, but it’s a low quality image. The birodo is an interesting little tree. Obviously it would be a bold move to strip it down to look like a Joshua Tree. When I was a sprout, we had a large Joshua Tree in front of our house in the Mojave Desert. It’d be a fun project, if it doesn’t kill the tree. Thanks for any advice...
