Leaves started to curl and kinda bubble, not sure if it’s sun damage or what seems to only be happening to the leaves near the top. Would appreciate if anyone knows what it might be. Thanks

Austin is marginally too hot for JM unless protected from sun after ~10 or 11 AM? And winds are important, too.

I have seen curled leaves on my current JM but no bubbling like that. Usually I'll just move my tree to a spot with more shade cover when that starts to happen as days get warmer in summer.

I'd say be mindful of your tree's water needs, and mist the foliage as much as you can. Protect it from wind which will speed evaporation from the leaves, and keep it out of direct sunlight for a bit.

I have field maple seedlings doing the same thing in a flat with other ones not doing that. In fact there is one with nice leaves on the bottom and the top 3-4 sets doing that. And they are in the shade and watered properly.
I would like to know why they are doing also. Is it a nutrient thing a disease or just…….?
