@Brian Van Fleet i checked drainage. It was slow. So i tried poking some holes in the root ball with a wooden skewer. It was difficult. I left the skewer in one hole to check on moistness later.

Chopsticks work better. If you don’t get better drainage, grab an extra pair on your next Chinese takeout!

I watered it pretty hard today drainage was still slow but i figure repeated soakings should help. I found a pair of takeout chopsticks. It worked a little better making holes.and was able to create about 8 holes. Though it took some force and there was some ripping sounds. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.
