My maples have lengthened and lignified, so I took the day to defoliate three. I’ve not done it for years, but the growth was so vigorous in their new home, decided this was the year. 78C75A9E-EBED-4CED-AB6E-AE2D1833FF6E.jpeg17140770-B723-4AFC-8102-709D17CA92F7.jpeg4501A293-1F2A-4305-829F-E32E5A51C4B0.jpegACF40A79-F14C-4D9A-8909-0A6AD66CA1A3.jpeg

FIVE GALLONS OF LEAVES! Considering it was only 3 trees, sure seemed like a heck of a lot of leaves.

I did just a little wiring and trimming. I’m interested in seeing if there is significant reduction in leaf size on the trident and larger JM.

I forgot to snap a pic of this tree before I started.8C71FD2C-D819-404E-8421-BCDE8559ED3F.jpeg

The last pic is the size of the leaves on the smaller JM, so I think they are about as small as they can go. Don’t you wish they all were that small?543AF849-F495-4268-842E-31B32E86E098.jpeg
